Abstract:
To provide a thick steel plate which suppresses or prevents occurrence of burning, and accordingly is useful for being used in laser cutting, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A thick steel plate includes a steel plate, and a scale formed on the surface of the steel plate, wherein in an interface vicinity region of 10 μm×100 μm of an interface length in a plate thickness direction with the position of the interface between the steel plate and the scale as a center, 50 μm2 or more of a metal-concentrated phase in which the total of Cu, Ni, Mo, Sn and Sb concentrations (mass%) is 3.0 times or more of the total of Cu, Ni, Mo, Sn and Sb contents (mass%) of the steel plate is contained. A method for manufacturing a thick steel plate includes the steps of: heating a slab, including holding the slab at a surface temperature of the slab of 1,100-1,300°C for 30-120 minutes; holding the slab in the atmosphere for 50-120 seconds; and hot-rolling the slab, including subjecting the slab to descaling by final high-pressure water at a temperature of 1,050°C or higher.SELECTED DRAWING: None
