PURPOSE: To obtain the subject novel woven fabric producible at a low cost, having voluminous feeling and enabling the use of a selvedge yarn because of the absence of back warp and pile yarn exposed to the surface by parallelly arranging a pair of specific double woven fabrics facing the back faces inward and connecting the back warps with each other through a pile yarn.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of double woven fabrics 1,7 having a surface texture 2,8 composed of a surface warp 5,11 and a surface weft 4,10 and a back texture 3,9 composed of back weft 6,12 and a warp common to the surface warp 5,11 are placed in parallel above and below facing the back textures 3,9 inward and the surface weft 6 of the upper double woven fabric 1 is connected to the back weft 12 of the lower double woven fabric 7 through a pile yarn 13. It is preferable to weave the surface texture with a common weaving yarn and use a selvedge yarn as the back weft and the pile yarn to obtain an inexpensive and voluminous woven fabric having a smooth surface texture.
