To obtain a solution capable of facilitating handleability of powder in an operation for dissolving a solid sunscreen in a proper solvent, by including a specific compound and a solvent comprising a prescribed ester.
This solution comprises (A) 15-60 wt.% of a compound of the formula and (B) 40-85 wt.% of a solvent (e.g. 2-ethylhexyl stearate) composed of an ester of the formula A-(COO-B)n [(n) is 1 or 2; when (n) is 1, A is a 6-22C straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl, a phenyl (substituted one or more 1-4C straight-chain or branched chain alkyls), etc., and when (n) is 2, A is a 2-12C (un) saturated alkylene chain (substituted with one or more hydroxyl groups) or phenylene; B is a 3-18C straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl or a 5-12C cycloalkyl (substituted with one or more 1-4C straight chain or branched chain alkyls)]. The solution is obtained by dissolving the component A in the component B preferably at 0-200°C. The solution is useful for producing a cosmetic composition.
