Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To thicken a solvent so as to be able to form gel, paste or power, excellent in transparency, smoothing and lubricating properties, preservability, or the like, and useful for a personal care product or the like, by reacting a reactive polysiloxane with an ubnsaturated compound in the presence of the solvent.
SOLUTION: When thickening a solvent composed of an organic compound and/or a silicon-containing compound, a polysilicone having silyl groups of the formula R3SiO(R'2SiO)a(R"HSiO)bSiR3 [R, R' and R" are each a 1-6C alkyl; (a) is 0-250; (b) is 1-250], a compound of the formula CH2=CR'''R''''(R''' is a 1-40C alkyl; R'''' is H or R''') and a compound of the formula CH2=CH (CH2)xCH=CH2 [(x) is 1-20] are reacted among one another in the presence of a Platinum catalyst and the above solvent, up to the formation of gel. Thus formed gel can be broken into pieces of power, or is supplemented with the solvent and is subjected to shearing force toe form paste.
