This thickening type waste water cleaning equipment cleans waste water by separating the suspension components in the waste water by using filter cloth and consists of filtration equipment for separating the waste water supplied from a feed box to the suspension components and cleaning water by using the filter cloth, dewatering equipment disposed in contact with the filter cloth, recovery equipment for recovering the filtrate subjected to filtration, sludge recovery equipment for scraping, removing and recovering the sludge which is the aggregate of the suspension components dewatered by the filtration equipment and the dewatering equipment from the filter cloth, shower equipment disposed next to the recovery equipment, for removing the sludge remaining without being removed from the filter cloth, thickening equipment for thickening the sludge of the shower waste water after cleaning including the sludge removed from the filter cloth, circulation piping for retuning the thickened water containing much of the thickened sludge to the filtration equipment using the filter cloth and piping for supplying the treated water containing the sludge to a lower extent to cleaning of the filter cloth and this waste water cleaning method uses this equipment.
