THICKNESS MEASURING DEVICE FOR ATTACHMENT TO INTERNAL WALL OF PIPING

PURPOSE: To allow mounting simply on a pipe to be measured and measure accurately the thickness of an attachment over the whole circumference of the pipe by providing a radiations source and a radiations sensor, and rotating them in a single piece along the peripheral surface of the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: In the condition that guides 3, 4 are split, a pipe to be measured 1 is secured to the base 2. Hooks 7, 8 are hitched at pins 9, 10, and mounting boards 5, 6 are coupled provisionally, and also the guides 3, 4 are coupled provisionally. A guide rail 24 is coupled with another 23 using fastening screws 21, 22, and the guides 3, 4 are consolidated. Therein a radiations source 11 and a radiations sensor 12 situated oppositely while pinching the center axis of the pipe 1 are approached with the aid of slides 11a, 12a to a position a certain distance apart from the peripheral surface of the pipe 1, and in the same manner, an ultrasonic wave probe 13 is put in tight attaching to the peripheral surface of the pipe 1. The source 11, sensor 12, and probe 13 are located on the left, right, and upon the pipe 1, and the radiations intensity after passage of the radiations is sensed 12, and thereupon the thickness of the attachmennt to the pipe inside is calculated through measuring 13 of the wall thickness of the pipe 1. Then the guide 3 rotates the source 11, etc., in a single piece, and measurement takes place over the whole periphery of the pipe 1.
