Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the thin cell having no scattering in capacity by preventing any gap due to slackening from existing in each plane section of side surfaces of a plate group without impairing the plate group, and thereby making reactivi ty between the plates excellent in the plate group which is so constituted as to be formed into an oblong shape by spirally winding a positive and a negative electrode plate via a separator.
CONSTITUTION: The thin cell is equipped with a spiral shaped plate group in an oblong shape composed of a positive and a negative electrode and of a separator, a metallic plate 2 in a U shape covering the plane section and upper surface of each side surface of the plate group 1, and of a cell case 3 housing the plate group 1 and the metallic plate 2 in a U shape. Each of the opposite two surfaces of the metallic plate in a U shape is in contact with the plane sections of the side surfaces with pressure in a state that it is curved in a projected shape against the plane sections of the side surfaces of the plate group.
