Abstract:
PURPOSE: To realize downsizing of thin film magnetic head with no sacrifice of output.
CONSTITUTION: The thin film magnetic head comprises a magnetic core, i.e., a magnetic metal layer 2 sandwiched by nonmagnetic substrates 1, wherein a soft magnetic film 11 having high permeability functioning as an auxiliary core is provided partially on the outer edge of the magnetic core while crossing perpendicularly therewith. Consequently, Widths h1, h2 at the back part or side part of the magnetic core can be reduced resulting in downsizing of thin film magnetic head.
