To provide a thin sheet type heat pipe that has a thinner thickness than a conventional thin sheet type heat pipe and has high heat transport and diffusion performance.
The thin sheet type heat pipe 1 is fabricated by enclosing a flow passage-forming sheet 4 together with a small amount of working fluid into an envelope-shaped container 3 formed by joining thin metal foils 2a, 2b, and letting air out and, thereafter, closely sealing the container 3. The flow passage-forming sheet 4 includes a gas phase flow passage 5 as a flow passage of vaporized working fluid and a liquid phase flow passage 6 as a flow passage of condensed working fluid. The liquid phase flow passage 6 comprises a wick 7 which causes the working fluid to flow by means of capillary force thereof. The gas phase flow 5 comprises a plurality of linear main flow passages 8 radially extended from the position superimposed on a heat receiving part H. The main flow passages 8 adjacent to each other are partitioned by the wick 7 and, also on a part where the main flow passages 8 are assembled, the wick 7 exists.
