PURPOSE: To reduce the diameter of the electric wire while the wear resistance thereof is increased, by causing a graft polymer to be contained in an insulator layer at the time of coating a conductor of the electric wire with a thin-walled insulator layer, the graft polymer being obtained through co-polymerization between a high molecular-weight monomer having at its one terminal end a functional group polymerizable with a polyvinyl chloride and other low molecular-weight monomer.
CONSTITUTION: An insulator layer is coated, while being thinned, onto a conductor by using a resin composition in which at least 1 weight part of a graft polymer is contained, the graft polymer being obtained by co-polymerization of a high molecular-weight monomer having at its one terminal end a functional group polymerizable with 100 weight part of polyvinyl chloride and other low- molecular weight monomers. Namely, the coating is effected while at least 1 weight part of the graft polymer and a composition containing 5 to 15 weight part of multifunctional group monomer are being cross-linked through irradiation of radiation. The coating is performed while a tip end 2a of the blade 2 is being reciprocated.
