NEW MATERIAL: A thioformaldehyde derivative represented by formula I [wherein R is 1-4C alkyl, Ar is (substituted) phenyl, Y is ethylene, methylene or valence and n is 0 or 1], a precursor thereof and a pharmacologically acceptable slat thereof.
EXAMPLE: (±)-trans-N-methyl2-phenyltetrahydropyrane2-carbothioamide1-oxide.
USE: This new material is used as a drug having a property contracting a smooth muscle of a blood vessel, an air duct, a gastrointestinal tract, the bladder or the uterus and a falling hair preventing agent.
PROCESS: The compd. represented by the formula I is obtained by reacting a compd. represented by formula II with an inorg. or org. base or an organolithium derivative and subsequently reacting the formed compd. with isothiocyanate represented by formula III (wherein R is alkyl). The compd. wherein n is 0 is obtained by reducing the compd. represented by the formula I (wherein n is 1).
