EXAMPLE: 1-( 5-Chlorothiophene-2-yl )-4,4-dimethyl-2-( 1,2,4-triazole-1-yl )pentane- 3-one.
USE: A fungicide, herbicide, growth retardant of a plant. Capable of being used together with another drug and preventing several kinds of blight without lowering the controlling effect of the drug. Stable to men, cattle, and fish.
PROCESS: A ketone compound shown by the formula IV is reacted with a halide shown by the formula V (X is halogen, tosyloxy, etc.), a tosyl or mesyl compound, for example, in a solvent, e.g., benzene, in the presence of a proper base to give a compound shown by the formula I.
