Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A thiourea derivative of formula I or II.
USE: Useful as an intermediate for synthesizing 2-t-butylimino-3-isopropyl-5- phenyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2H-1,3,5-thiadiazin-4-one (generic name: buprofezin) useful as an insecticide.
PREPARATION: A reaction is made between an aniline of formula III and a thiouric acid of formula IV in the presence of an inert solvent to obtain the objective compound of the formula I or II. Said inert solvent is e.g. benzene, acetone. The reaction temperature is -10 to 60°C (pref. 0°C to room temperature).
