Title:
THREAD CLIPPERS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012005663
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To solve the problem that when only one hand can be used, when scissors are operated by holding them by one hand, an object to be cut cannot be caught by the other hand, and therefore, a small and light-weight article or the like moves when being touched by blade edges, and cannot be cut.

A pair of sheaths for covering the blade edges to prevent them from being exposed by the front end parts of the sheaths in well-known Japanese style scissors and western style scissors are placed from the back sides of both blades, and the rear part of each sheath is freely turnably attached the scissors by using a fastener such as a bolt. The front end parts of both sheaths are confronted with each other face to face while covering respective blade edges, and the sheaths perform the opening/closing movements in association with the opening/closing of the blades, and also, hold and grip the object placed in a gap between them by the movement of hand to close the scissors without touching the blade edges. Then, the blade edges close and bite to cut the object on the insides of the sheaths by the further closing movement of the hand after that. Thus, the composite movements such as gripping and cutting the object can be performed by one hand alone.
