Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a thread-end cutter which cuts off the end of thread remaining at the sewing edge of machine-sewed cloth at the roots thereof.

CONSTITUTION: An electrically driven cutter 2 comprising a lower fixed comb blade 2a and an upper fixed comb blade 2b is mounted to the underside of a main body 1, and the lower end of an opening of a suction passage 9 communicating with a receiving chamber 5 in the body 1 is located near the upper part of the cutter 2, and further an air blowoff port 17 is opened into the passage 9 on either side of the passage 9 in the forward direction thereof so that the end of thread B attached onto cloth C is removed therefrom by an air stream from the port 17, while the end of thread B is raised from the cloth C by the suction force of air from the passage 9. And the end of thread B is cut off at the root thereof by means of the cutter 2 and put into the chamber 5 through the passage 9.
