Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a threaded adjustable-height insert and a method related to the same.SOLUTION: A threaded adjustable-height insert 50 may be installed in a bore 20 of a sandwich panel 12, such that the insert may be configured to transfer a load to the sandwich panel. The threaded adjustable-height insert may include a first insert part 52 and a second insert part 54, which may be selectively operably positioned with respect to each other. The overall height of the threaded adjustable-height insert may be adjusted by longitudinally sliding the second insert part with respect to the first insert part and by rotating the second insert part with respect to the first insert part. The threaded adjustable-height insert may be configured to be suited for flush installation in the sandwich panel. A method of installing such a threaded adjustable-height insert and adjusting the height of the same is also disclosed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
