Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately make a three-dimensional earthquake response analysis of a steel tower with a small capacity in a short time.
SOLUTION: The three-dimensional earthquake response analysis of a tower body and an electric cable connection system is made along the following steps: A three- dimensional truss model is formed (step 1), a unit load is applied to the three- dimensional truss model to evaluate rigidity (step 2), the spring constant against the twist of the tower body is handled by a multi-mass system (step 3), and a multi-lumped mass model having the same rigidity as the rigidity of the three-dimensional truss model is formed (step 4). An electric cable substituted in the multi-lumped mass model in two spans between three steel towers is used for the multi-lumped mass model (step 5), characteristic values are analyzed (step 6), the minimum characteristic value required for the strength evaluation of the tower body is selected (step 7), an earthquake motion in an optional direction is inputted (step 8), an attenuation factor is applied for each vibration mode (step 9), a response value is obtained by the mode overlap method (step 10), the earthquake external force at each mass point is obtained from the response value (step 11), and the earthquake external force is applied to the axial force of the three-dimensional truss model by the unit load to obtain earthquake response member force (step 12).
