Abstract:
To be capable to extract surely edges of the pattern light and to acquire steadily range information, independent on configurations, textures and the like of an object.
A projector 10 projects binary pattern light on the object 20, and an imaging apparatus 14 images its optical image. An edge extraction section 32 extracts edges from binary pattern light. The projector 10 projects multi-level pattern light on the object 20, and the imaging apparatus 14 images its optical image. Stripes of multi-level pattern are identified from edge information extracted from binary pattern light, and then the range desired is obtained by correspoding the identified stripe image with the stripe light of multi-level pattern light.
