To solve the problem in which conventional methods determine the safety or comfort of a three-dimensional video only by a mere difference between disparity values of a foremost plane and a rearmost plane or a temporal cumulative value thereof, sometimes resulting in a case where an erroneous evaluation result indicating discomfort is output though it can be comfortably watched in reality.
The present invention has a configuration that acquires a right-eye image and a left-eye image constituting a three-dimensional image, acquires a disparity angle distribution in the three-dimensional image, and evaluates the visibility of the three-dimensional image on the basis of the disparity angle distribution. This configuration enables output of a more proper evaluation result with respect to the safety or comfort of the three-dimensional image.
