A distance analysis unit 12 selects pixels at depth positions corresponding to the input, from a distance image C. An image area extraction unit 13 extracts, from an inputted image A, a clear image B_1 corresponding to the selected pixels. A blur image generation unit 14 generates a blur image B_2 by blurring the inputted image A. An image superimposing unit 15 superimposes the clear image B_1 on the blur image B_2 and outputs the result to a monitor output unit 16.
