Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve operation environment and operation efficiency only by providing three light spots on the axis of a stylus at constant intervals and providing an image pickup camera above or below the operation area of the stylus, and thus taking a measurement. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an object B is scanned by the tip of the stylus in contact to measure the three-dimensional coordinate values of a scanning point PS. At this time, the three light spots P1-P3 are provided on the axis (l) of the stylus at the constant intervals L, and the image pickup camera C is provided above or below the operation space of the stylus. The distance to the contact point PS is calculated from the intervals L of the light spots P1-P3 and the light spots P1-P3 and the three-dimensional coordinate values of the respective points of the object B are calculated from information contained in images of the light spots P1-P3. Thus, the operation space of the stylus is widened and speedy measurement by the continuous scanning is enabled.
