Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional sheet suited for use as a sheet for forming a leakproof part of an absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin, enabling formation of a leakproof part excellent in touch, fit and leakproof properties, and its method of manufacture.
SOLUTION: The three-dimensional sheet 1 has a corrugated longitudinal cross section where the tops 11 and bottoms 12 of the corrugations are lower in density than mid portions 14 between the tops 11 and the bottoms 12. A sheet strip of raw material is passed between two irregular rollers having meshing protruding parts on their respective circumferential surfaces, to deform the cross section of the raw-material sheet into a corrugated shape. At the same time, the portions of the raw-material sheet corresponding to the mid portions between the tops and bottoms of the three-dimensional sheet are compressed between the protruding parts to achieve a higher density.
