Title:
THREE-DIMENSIONAL WOVEN FABRIC COMPRISING GLASS FIBER COATED WITH THERMOPLASTIC RESIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0941240
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain the subject woven fabric free from crease, excellent in smoothness and useful as a membrane material by coating glass fiber with a thermoplastic resin and weaving the glass fiber coated with the resin into a three-dimensional woven fabric.

Glass fiber is coated with a thermoplastic resin such as polyvinyl chloride and the glass fiber coated with the resin is woven into a three- dimensional woven fabric comprising warps 3 and 5, wefts 5 and 6 and a connecting yarn 7 using a pile loom, etc. In the resultant woven fabric, a surface base fabric 1 is connected to a back base fabric 2 by a connecting yarn 7 and, when the fabric is thermally fused at contact points between yarns and the contact points are filled, the fabric becomes free from crease and deformation, etc.
