To provide a cable also having greatly improved fatigue-fretting durability.
The cable comprises an inner layer C1 comprising L wires (L=1 to 4) having a diameter d1, an intermediate layer C2 with M wires having a diameter d2 spirally and integrally wound with a pitch p2, and an outer layer C3 with N wires (N=8 to 20) having a diameter d3 spirally and integrally wound with a pitch p3. In the cable, a sheath made from a crosslinkable rubber composition or crosslinked rubber composition covers at least the intermediate layer C2 and has following characteristics (the units of d2, d3, p2 and p3 are mm): (i) 0.10<d1<0.28, (ii) 0.10<d2<0.25, (iii) 0.10<d3<0.25, (iv) M=6 or M=7, (v) 5π(d1+d2)<p2<p3<5π(d1+d2+d3), (vi) the wires in the layers C2 and C3 are wound in the same twist direction.
