Title:
THREE PIECE CAN EXCELLENT IN FLANGEABILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3553162
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve flangeability by reducing the crack in weld zone resulting from stress concentration which is of problem in forming flange of a three piece can.
CONSTITUTION: Concerning the material property of weld zone likely to generate stress concentration in forming flange of a three piece can, welding is executed so that difference in the property is caused in the thickness direction, thus, stress concentration to cause crack in weld zone is alleviated and flangeability is improved. To this end, conditions of electric current, speed, electrode temp at welding, cooling after welding, etc., are appropriately controlled corresponding to a stock to be welded, hardness difference in the thickness direction after welding is generated and difference in strength between average in thickness of weld zone and non weld zone is reduced, thus, stress concentration is alleviated.
