Title:
THREE-PIECE SOLID GOLF BALL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005224515
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a golf ball with a sufficient flying performance by achieving the proper spin performance especially under the iron shot and the approach shot.

In the three-piece solid golf ball which has the solid core, the intermediate layer and the cover layer and a number of dimples formed in the cover layer, when the load of 10 to 130kg is imposed on the core, the degree of deformation is 2.6 to 3.2 mm. The cover layer is made of a thermoplastic polyurethane as the main material with the lower hardness than the intermediate layer thereof. The surface hardness of the cover layer is 58 to 64 in Shore D hardness to bring a difference in hardness from the intermediate layer to 4 to 10 in the Shore D hardness. The total thickness of the intermediate layer and the cover layer is 2.2 to 3.0 mm while the thickness of the cover layer is 0.8 to 1.3 mm. Four kinds of dimples are arranged, the total number of the dimples is 250 to 390 and the average depth of the dimples is 0.125 to 0.150 mm.
