PURPOSE: To obtain a rolling machine possible to freely recombine into a two- rolls rolling or a three-rolls rolling by creating a new transmission driving mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: In the two-rolls rolling machine, the driving force of a motor 1 is made to a vertical shaft drive through a bevel reduction gear 2 and distributed to two roll driving shafts 18, 19 through a reduction gear 3, and a pinion stand 4. This drive system is used for the drive mechanism of a three-rolls rolling machine. In other words, the rolling path line of a roll 8 is taken as reference and other two rolls 9, 10 are arranged every 120 degrees. The universal joint 18' of the two-rolls rolling machine and an input gear 20 are coupled through an idle gear 21 match the rolling direction with the rotating direction of the roll. The rolls 9, 10 are driven by the bevel gears 12, 13, 15, 16. The change of two rolls/three rolls is performed by the unit of gear trains 32, 33 succeeding the joint 18'.
