Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a switch memory which realizes the synapse plasticity based on a biochemical process approximating synapses of living body by storing only signals having intensities higher than a certain value out of transmitted signals.
CONSTITUTION: When a signal W is inputted to a memory cell 1 from the outside through a signal input part 3, an activation factor is generated, and a first material is activated by this factor, and when signal input is terminated, the activating action of the activation factor disappears, and the first material is inactivated by a second material. Convergence to a value other than 0 or 0 is brought about with time in accordance with whether the degree of activation of the first material just after the end of signal input exceeds a threshold peculiar to a threshold operated type storage solution S or not. The reaction system state for convergence to a value other than 0 is defined as the switch on state, and that for convergence to 0 is defined as the switch off state, and they are stored in distinction from each other, and thus, this switch memory is operated with the threshold as the reference.
