To provide a throating structure for architecture which can cope with both external wall members having shiplap joints and external wall members having butt joints.

This throating structure is installed between external wall members of upstairs and downstairs in a building or installed at the lower end of the external wall members in the lowermost stage. In this case, the structure is constituted of a throating body 2, a cover member 4, and an intermediate members 3 connecting both the body and the member to each other. The throating body 2 is provided with the upper fitting groove 26 and the lower fitting groove 27 for fitting the intermediate member 3. A fitting groove for fitting the cover member is formed between a hooking riser 22 and a step 23 to fit the fitting pieces 31 of the intermediate member 3 in the upper fitting groove 26 or the lower fitting groove 27. The cover member 4 is attached to the throating body 2 to constitute the throating structure for the building by fitting the fitting part 43 of the cover member 4 into the fitting groove of the cover member.
