Abstract:

PURPOSE:To facilitate the maintenance of proper air fuel ratio within minute opening of a throttle valve by constituting the valve configuration to reduce the grade of change in air amount at the minute opening for keeping at a low level the change in the air amount due to the change in the opening. CONSTITUTION:The thickness t2 of a throttle valve 1 is at least 1.5mm. and less than 1/10 of the diameter D3 of the valve. The throttle valve 1 has the rounded peripheral edge having radius R less than 5 times the thickness t2 of the valve and the fully opened angle is less than 5 deg.. Also, the clearance L between the periphery of the valve and the inner wall of a intake bore when the valve is fully closed is to be about 1/10,000-5/1,000 of the bore D2. Thus, the rate of change in air amount within the range of minute opening can be reduced.
