To provide a throw-away tip of a long service life which provides stable and high constraint force and exerts stable cutting performance without chipping in a flank collided by cutting chips.
This throw-away tip is formed into a substantially flat plate shape and has both sides usable. In the throw-away tip, a corner part 5 of an intersecting ridge part is used as a cutting blade, a land surface 6 is provided at a peripheral edge part, and a center surface 8 is provided across a breaker groove 7 at the inside, both of the center surface 8 and the land surface 6 on main surface sides become installation surfaces when the main surfaces become seated surfaces 3, and a hard coated layer 13 is bonded and formed on a surface of a cemented carbide base body 11. Density B of a binder phase in the flank 4 is higher than density A of a binder phase in the cemented carbide base body 11 (B>A), and a ratio (B/A) of the density A of the binder phase and the density B of the binder phase is larger than a ratio (C/A) of the density A of the binder phase in the cemented carbide base body 11 and density C of the binder phase on the surface of the cemented carbide base body 11 on the land surface 6.
