PURPOSE: To improve workability, and prevent mistake of directivity of a tip to a mark position securely by processing a throw away tip to conduct a process of applying outer circumferential polishing to a tip main body of the throwaway tip, and a process of forming a mark for discrimination of a corner continuously.
CONSTITUTION: A tip main body 11 is formed of rigid material to be an almost rectangular flat plate, it is held between chucks 21, 21 in a processing device such as a grinder of which forward ends are facing each other to get closer to/a part from each other, and a process is applied in this condition. A grinding wheel 22 is rotated, while a circular surface 23A of an abrasive grain layer 23 is put to get in contact with the tip main body 11, so circumferential surfaces 15A, 15B are ground for outer circumferential polishing, till an outer form of the tip main body 11 is finished in a desired form. Next, as the tip main body 11 is held in above condition, a rotation axial line of the grinding wheel 22 is inclined to the tip main body 11, and the tip main body 11 is cut by a ridge line part of the abrasive grain layer 23 of the grinding wheel 22, thereby a groove part 17 as a corner discrimination mark is formed at a cross ridge line part at which the circumferential surfaces 15A, 15B of the tip main body 11 cross each other.
