PURPOSE: To provide high face deflection accuracy in a face cutter wherein a position of a throwaway chip can be easily fine-adjusted with no necessity for skill and experience to suppress an error of cutting edge deflection to a very small value between the throwaway chips.
CONSTITUTION: A positioning member 18 is mounted to a base end side of a chip mounting seat 13 of a tool main unit 11, a flexible part 18b flexed in a diametric direction of the tool main unit 11 and also fixable in an arbitrary flexing position by a positioning screw 21 is provided in this positioning member 18, a peripheral surface 14c facing to a base end side is brought into contact with a point end surface 18c of this flexible part 18b, a throwaway chip 14 is mounted to the chip mounting seat 13, and a mounting position of the throwaway chip 14 is made advanceable/retractable in the direction of an axial line 0 of the tool main unit 11 in accordance with the flexing position of the flexible part 18b.
