Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust bearing for a crank shaft and a bearing device in which damages are hardly produced at the time of operation of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a thrust bearing including a pair of semi-annular shaped half-split thrust bearings forming an annular shape by abutting each of peripheral end surfaces to each other, each of the half-split bearing thrust bearing including a bearing alloy layer and a resin sliding layer or a rear metallic layer, a bearing alloy layer and a resin sliding layer, and the resin sliding layer constituting a sliding surface for receiving a force of axial direction. The half-split thrust bearing has a thrust relief formed to have a wall thickness thinned toward the peripheral end surface while being adjacent to both ends of the sliding surface in its peripheral direction receiving the force in the axial line, and a thrust relief length at an inner end part of the thrust relief at a rear side in a rotating direction of one half-split thrust bearing is longer than a thrust relief length at an inner end part of the thrust relief at a front side in a rotating direction of the other half-split thrust bearing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
