To enhance durability by reducing friction resistance and wear at a joint on a slide-contact surface between a turbine-side thrust collar as well as compressor-side thrust collar and a thrust bearing, and to improve reduction in exhaust pressure at an engine-side exhaust gas vent through friction resistance reduction.
In the thrust bearing device of the exhaust turbocharger, the thrust load acting between an exhaust turbine 1 and a compressor 2 of the exhaust turbocharger is supported through the turbine-side thrust collar 6 fixed to a turbine shaft 3 and the compressor-side thrust collar 5 by a thrust bearing 7 which is sandwiched by two thrust collars 5, 6 so that the outer periphery is fixed, and the thrust bearing 7 causes the two thrust collars 5, 6, to slide-contact on the slide-contact surface. Both side surfaces 71, 71 of the thrust bearing 7 and the two thrust collars 5, 6 are respectively slide-contacted through DLC coating treated layers, and the DLC coating treatment is applied to at least one of the slide-contacted facing surfaces.
