To reduce bearing loss by reducing abrasion of thrust metal and thrust runner surfaces and by eliminating metal burnout in a thrust bearing.

A thrust runner side permanent magnet 4 and a thrust metal side permanent magnet 5 are buried in the thrust runner 2 and the thrust metal 3 respectively in such dispositions as repelling each other. The magnetic repelling forces retain parts of the thrust load applied to the thrust bearing.
