To provide buoyancy, with reduced loss of horizontal flight ability, with simple mechanism, and with reduced damage of a runway, in a thrust deflector used in vertical and short-distance taking-off and landing.
The thrust deflector has a mechanism which can adjust a flow rate of gas discharged for levitation between a main power part and a suction fan on a suction side. The gas flow rate is adjusted for use in main power from the use in the levitation, so that thrust used for the levitation in the horizontal flight can be utilized for the horizontal flight. A suction mechanism may be also provided to supply a deficient quantity of gas into the main power part. Change of a revolution number of the main power part and the suction fan by using reduction gears allows giving a role of a compressor the suction fan in the horizontal flight. Sequential arrangement of a plurality of suction fans and discharge mechanisms can increase the buoyancy.
