To attain reduction in wall thickness, high strength, easy manufacture of a retainer, and secure sufficient strength even if intermittent load acts on the retainer in the radial direction, especially as seen in such a case that it is used for an automotive transmission.
Use of collars 1b, 2b mounted on a pair of bearing rings 1, 2 facing each other, and retainer engaging claws 5, 6 formed on them constitutes an integrated bearing inhibiting both races 1, 2 and retainer 3 from separating from each other. The retainer 3 involves a plurality of protrusions 8, 9 on the side surfaces of respective pockets 7. A roller retaining claw 11 for the rear of the retainer is formed on part of the protrusions 8, and a roller retaining claw 12 for the front of the retainer is formed on the remaining protrusions 9. The surfaces of the respective protrusions 8, 9 are roller guide surfaces 8a, 9a. The roller retaining claws 11, 12 are formed by means of ironing.
