Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost while positioning can be made in a thrust direction of a valve system camshaft.
SOLUTION: A bearing boss 18 for a camshaft is fixedly provided in a cylinder head of an overhead camshaft type engine, a flange-shaped journal part 21 of a valve system camshaft 8 is internally fitted to this boss 18, to be rotatably supported. A thrust stopper 28, in a condition that an upper part shaft fitting hole 38 of its vertical plate part 30 is concentrically externally fitted relating to a rocker arm shaft 9, is positioned. In a condition that a bolt mounting seat part 35 of a horizontal plate part 29 of the thrust stopper 28 is mounted on the rocker armshaft 9, the thrust stopper is co-tightenedly fixed to an upper part of the boss 18 with the rocker arm shaft 9 by a fixing bolt 24. In this condition, a stopper plane part 31 of the vertical plate part 30 oppositely faces a side surface 37 of the journal part 21 of the valve system camshaft 8, and it is positioned in a thrust direction.
