PURPOSE: To shorten the length of an aerospace vehicle and eliminate the necessity of a structure for positioning an reaction engine at a rear swivel point by providing a means for rotating the reaction engine around the axis of the aerospace vehicle and simultaneously moving the same crosswise.
CONSTITUTION: For manipulation of an aerospace vehicle, a control device for rotating a rocket engine 16 around the axis 14 of the aerospace vehicle 10 and simultaneously moving the same crosswise is provided. With this control device, the rocket engine 16 can be positioned, very close to the gravitational center 12 of the aerospace vehicle 10 in comparison with a conventional control device, without reducing a control moment created in the control device. As a result, the length of the aerospace vehicle 10, and further, the necessity of a structure which is in general required for positioning the engine 16 at a swivel point which is located at a sufficient rear position can be eliminated.
