To improve efficiency of a tidal current power generator and to reduce production costs and maintenance costs.
An axial flow water-turbine of a cylindrical body floating on the water is adopted and a plurality of blades are disposed which are continued while being twisted along the outer circumference of the cylindrical body so that dust is hardly stuck thereon. The rear part of the cylindrical body is sunk by mounting a fan-shaped weight 4 to a non-rotary shaft 3 for power generation within the cylindrical body. Accordingly, an initial tidal current pressure can be received. A gear 6 is disposed in the end portion of the cylindrical body in order to transmit rotational force of the cylindrical body 1 rotated by power of a tidal current hitting the blades 2 to a power generator 5. Furthermore, the fan-shaped weight 4 is fixed to the non-rotary shaft 3 for power generation and the non-rotary shaft 3 for power generation is prevented from being rotated by its gravity action, so that motive energy being the rotational force of the cylindrical body can be transmitted to the power generator. Holes 11 for in/out power transmission, each having such a size that a person passes and a power transmission wire 15 can be inserted, are provided to the non-rotary shaft 3 for power generation that is not rotated, a connecting pipe 10 and a non-rotary shaft 8 for anchoring so as to enable a person to enter and leave the cylindrical body and to perform maintenance work and wiring on the power transmission wire 15 during operation.
