Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide TIG welding method by which the end face of the opening of a workpiece is stably and uniformly melted and the opening is closed without causing defects.
CONSTITUTION: An arc is generated between the end face of the opening of a metal hollow body having an opening on one end and a torch 12 facing opposite to the end face of the opening, which is then melted by the arc, and the opening is closed with the molten metal. In this TIG welding method, the axis of the hollow body and the axis of the torch 12 are shifted, and by varying the relative position between the hollow body and the torch 12, the end face of the opening is melted.
