PURPOSE: To generate a time division multiplex signal with simple configuration by switching a modulation signal for a prescribed period, modulating a carrier signal with the modulation signal and switching a signal level.
CONSTITUTION: The generator is provided with data signal generating circuit 12 generating a modulation signal PN whose code is switched for a prescribed period, a modulation circuit 14 modulating a carrier signal with a prescribed frequency and outputting a modulation output signal set to a prescribed signal level, and attenuators 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 switching a signal level of a modulation output signal corresponding to the synchronization. Then the modulation signal PN whose code is switched for a prescribed period is generated, the carrier signal is modulated by the modulation signal PN and then the signal level is switched. That is, the PN code is inputted switchingly to the modulator 14 and an output signal of the modulator 14 is outputted sequentially and cyclicaly via the attenuators 18-22, then the time division multiplex signal is generated with simple configuration by having only to use the modulator 14.
