PURPOSE: To provide a time measuring device which permits outputting, during or after a race, recorded time in the order of storing or in order of ranking, by arithmetically operating differences between the time separately stored, and storing the results of the arithmetic operation.

CONSTITUTION: Time data in a time counting section 21 are store in a start preliminary memory section 22 with a signal input into a start signal input terminal 213. A code input from a start input section 25 into a section 24 is added therein to the time data stored as mentioned above, and resulting data are stored in an auxiliary memory section 28. A goal arrival time, to which a code has been added 26 with a goal signal input into a goal signal input terminal 214, is also stored in the auxiliary memory section 28. In an operating section 29, the time between the starting time and goal arrival time is calculaed on the basis of the data input thereinto. An output from the operating section 29 is applied to a section 210 and also stored in a primary memory section 215. The stored time data in the primary memory section 215 are compared with one another and then printed in order of ranking.
