The time measuring system includes a switch that sends a time measurement signal indicating that a competitor has passed through a measuring point; and a control means for starting time measurement in response to a trigger signal to output running time, obtaining the running time at the time of reception of the time measurement signal as finishing time, counting in response to the time measurement signal the number of competitors that have passed through a measuring point, obtaining the number as an order corresponding to finishing time, starting counting time behind leader in response to the first time measurement signal after the start of the time measurement, switching the finishing time to the time behind leader to output as additional information, outputting the order corresponding to the finishing time as order information when outputting the finishing time, and outputting the latest order as order information when outputting the time behind leader.
