To provide a time recorder having a function of adjusting a transfer amount of a time card which is devised to adjust the transfer amount of the time card to a state matching with a paper quality and an expansion/contraction state of the time card to be used or a card state such as a printing state of a printing column, and correctly register and print a time related to working to within the printing column.
A starting point and an end point printed to the inserted time card TA or TB are read by mark sensors 10 and 11, whereby the transfer amount of the time card TA or TB from the starting point to the end point is counted by an encoder sensor 12. The transfer amount is compared with a reference transfer amount to calculate an adjustment value. The card is sent on the basis of the calculated adjustment value.
