To provide a time recorder capable of printing leaving time in a leaving field even when the other time recorder is used.

The time recorder for printing the time clocked by a clocking circuit 12 on the prescribed step of a time card inserted from a card inserting port, is provided with a mark sensor 21 for detecting whether an IN mark showing attending is printed at the prescribed position of the time card corresponding to a printing position for printing attending time or not when the time card is inserted into the card inserting port and a controller 7 for printing the time clocked by the clocking circuit 12 in an attending field for printing the IN mark at that prescribed position when this mark sensor 21 does not detect the IN mark and for printing the time clocked by the clocking circuit 12 in the leaving field when the IN mark is detected by the mark sensor 21.
