To provide a timepiece component which achieves the improvement of a degree of freedom of manufacturing and the long-term maintenance of lubrication performance, and a manufacturing method of the timepiece component.
A timepiece component includes a base material 136, and a plated film 133 covering a surface of the base material 136. The plated film 133 has such porous structure that a number of micropores 134 exist over the whole of its surface layer and inside. The micropores 134 are spherical cavities, and each of them is formed in the same size. The micropores 134 of the plated film 133 retain a lubricating oil O inside by surface tension or capillarity. Thus, a whole side face of the base material 136, which includes a sliding surface of an escape wheel 132, functions as an oil retaining surface capable of retaining the lubricating oil O.
