A hardened layer including two elements of Au and Fe and at least either element of Si and Ge is formed on the surface of this timepiece exterior component. Otherwise, the first hardened layer comprising a nitride or a carbide of Ta, Ti, Zr, Nb or Hf is formed on the surface of the timepiece exterior component, and a hardened layer including two elements of Au and Fe and at least either element of Si and Ge is formed on the first hardened layer as the second hardened layer. Hereby, the timepiece exterior component having high hardness not generating a flaw caused by impact, high corrosion resistance generating no corrosion and the golden color tone can be attained.
