PURPOSE: To test the operation of a timer securely in a short time without setting the timer with operation buttons by supplying test routine data to a specific input port of a microcomputer.
CONSTITUTION: A test data generator 11 is connected to a transfer data input port 7a and a test code for testing from the generator 11 is stored in a timer program memory 7b. The microcomputer 7 sets an on-time, an off time, and a reception frequency on the basis of the test code, sets the time lastly, and also advances the timepiece. When a timer function is normal, the power source is turned on at the set on time to perform reception at the set frequency and turned off at the off-time. The timepiece is returned to the normal speed when the power source is turned off, and timer operation data stored in a memory 7b are erased. This test routine is carried out to confirm the normal operation of the timer function.
